## Quick answer

Yes. Amplified music and loudspeakers need a City permit, and loud sound limits apply.

## Detailed answer

City park rules prohibit amplified music and battery-operated loudspeakers in Kailua Beach Park unless the Department of Parks and Recreation has issued a permit. Without a permit, any sound over 80 decibels measured 10 feet from the source for a total of five minutes or more is also prohibited. The park is closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. Keep music low out of respect for other beachgoers and nearby homes.
